~A Message From The Vahanian Family~

Our beautiful 3-year old daughter, Isabella, was born with a diagnosis of Down’s syndrome.  At 5 months old she had successful open-heart surgery to repair some small holes in her heart.  In August, 2009, shortly after her second birthday, she was diagnosed with AML leukemia. As an integral part of her care, Wendy, my wife, and I lived with Isabella at the hospital on shifts 24/7 for almost 8 months while still caring for Gabriela, our 8 year old, at home.  Isabella’s care became our full time work. Now that she’s completed her in-hospital chemotherapy treatment plan, she goes in for blood work each month. Her most recent bone marrow and blood tests show she’s in remission, and we’re so grateful for her increasing health and to have us all sleeping under the same roof again.

At this time, Isabella still requires full time supervision and support. Wendy recently began working again and I’ve been taking consistent steps to reengage my normal career as an actor while caring for Isabella during the day. 

As you might imagine, there are immediate and significant family cash flow needs to be met by our family, and vulnerable as it may be for us to ask for assistance, we know we need to heed our heart’s guidance and do whatever we can in service to meeting our family’s needs. We’re so grateful to The Talbert Family Foundation for their generous offering of support both financially and in providing a way folks can contribute to our meeting our current needs. We’re so grateful to those who've generously assisted us already during this process and those joining us now.  Independent of your ability or inward calling to offer your financial support, please do include loving thoughts and prayers for Isabella and our family as we successfully bridge forward from this time of healing and reintegrate into a more 'normal' flow of life.
