| EVAN'S FUND |
Dear Oaks Christian Parents, Family and Friends, Most of you know well our high school principal, Kirk Miyashiro, and his wife Joni, our middle school receptionist. Last Friday evening after working at our high school Christmas invitational basketball tournament, their son Evan (a 2004 alumnus of Oaks Christian School) was involved in a serious automobile accident on his way to the bay area. Evan sustained a broken neck and a large cut on the back of his head. He has undergone two surgeries to fuse his C6 and C7 vertebrae, and the head wound has been “stapled.” Please pray for Evan and the family, for full restoration of his legs, and that his neck will properly heal. Kirk asked us to pray that he and Joni would be able to give this to the Lord and rely on God’s strength at this time. Kirk and Joni have been touched by the scripture passage of James 1:2-3 and related that “The joy we seek is in the outcome from this situation. There is no joy in the pain Evan, Joni and I feel right now, but we look forward to celebrating the results of this situation.” Many of you have asked if there is anything that you can do for the family at this time. In addition to offering your prayers on their behalf, there are many out-of-pocket expenses that the family could use assistance in meeting. Evan is hospitalized in northern California. He was between jobs and expecting to start his new job in the next two weeks. He has an individual medical insurance policy but with high deductibles. If you wish to contribute to help the family and Evan, you may do so by contributing directly to help with these ongoing expenses. Of course, any notes or cards of encouragement would be greatly appreciated as well. 100% of the monies donated to the fund will be donated to Evan and his family |
