Alexa Rachael Weiner is truly a hero! 

She has been battling anaplastic astrocytoma, grade III brain cancer, since she was almost five years old.  She is now nine, and she has endured four brain surgeries, a stem cell transplant, countless infusions of chemotherapy, a seven-week regime of radiation, and many more medical procedures that a child should never have to experience.  Through it all, she has remained strong and has an amazing zest for life.

Her cancer has grown again for the fourth time and since she has exhausted all conventional treatments (and some unconventional as well), she will be traveling with her family to Belgium for an experimental vaccine treatment.  They are going to be spending six weeks in Leuven, Belgium while Alexa receives this hopefully life-saving treatment.
